New installation: thermal power plant, Saint-Pierre Island

KPS piping provided EDF’s new thermal power plant on Saint-Pierre Island with a safe, reliable way to transport fuel to generators. The thermal power plant has 2 redundant 10 MW half-power stations. The Saint Pierre area is approximately 242 square kilometres and has a population of 6,000. This power plant will supply electricity to 90% of the archipelago, making it one of the most critical facilities in the territory.

Bioethanol and diesel flows through KPS piping to the thermal power plants generators. Thanks to the performance of its engines, fuel oil consumption is reduced by almost 1,000 tonnes per year and CO2 emissions by nearly 3,000 tonnes per year.
